Back in 2006 Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. launched the Eye of Judgement, an Eye Toy and card based game that uses Augmented Reality.

A few days ago I came across with the Cyber Figure ARis from Geisha Tokyo Entertainment (japanese only). A 3D “holographic” figure displayed on your computer screen that you can interact with in real life through the manipulation of a special positioning box, paddle, and web camera. The idea popularized in anime such as Hand Maid May has finally come to life! Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your own virtual, interactive figure? You can buy it at the JBox website.

You can find more pictures at the Akibablog.

If you know more AR used in commercial applications, please drop us a line.
